St. Mark’s for Young Adults

Early adulthood can be a challenging time of life. We’re establishing our careers, discovering who we are, and, often, finding a new family far from home. At St. Mark’s, young adults work to walk alongside one another through life’s ups and downs. Whether you’re a college student or are working full time, we have formation offerings for young adults to fit a variety of needs.

Solomon’s Porch

“Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” –1 Timothy 4:12

Solomon’s Porch is St. Mark’s fellowship group for young adults. We meet monthly for fun activities, service projects, camping trips, theological discussion, and more! Anyone 18-35 (or thereabouts) is welcome to attend.

You can always check the calendar for more details or contact communications@stmarksutah.org for more information. Alternatively, join our community Discord server or sign up for our email newsletter, which provides a monthly rundown of young adult offerings at the Cathedral.

The Table SLC

"For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” -Matthew 18:20

The Table is a member of the Gather Network, a group of interdenominational young adult communities dedicated to engaging deeply with our faith. Whether you have a church home you love or haven't been in a while (or ever!). you are welcome here.

The Table (and Gather) exist to fill a gap in programming for young adults in our church communities. There are many congregations throughout the Salt Lake valley with smaller young adult communities. We love our churches, but there often aren't enough of us for dedicated young adult formation in each congregation. The Table offers an opportunity for young adults to come together across denominational lines to fellowship and learn about our faith together.

We gather twice monthly at locations across the Salt Lake Valley for fellowship, fun, and faith discussions. Anyone 18-35 (or somewhere close to that) is welcome to join in!

Campus Ministry

The Sanctuary is the Episcopal Diocese of Utah’s ministry on campus at the University of Utah. Students (graduate or undergraduate), faculty, and members of staff are welcome to join in! The Sanctuary meets monthly as a group for dinner and fellowship. For more information or to get involved, visit their website below.

Formation

Formation is our primary way of growing in the knowledge and love of God. Formation classes meet every Sunday at 9:15 a.m. upstairs for a time of discussion, reflection on scripture. and prayer. Formation is led by a priest or other qualified instructor, and is broken up into a number of series throughout the year.

Along with our Sunday morning offerings, St. Mark’s hosts a number of other formation groups throughout the week.

Newcomers

If you’re new to St. Mark’s, welcome! We have a variety of offerings for people new to the church, which you can explore using the button below. Feel free to join in any of our young adult offerings, or come join us at coffee hour following 10:30 Eucharist on Sundays! St. Mark’s young adults almost always have a table to ourselves, and we’re always excited to meet new people.
