About the Society

The Society of St. Jonathan Daniels is a devotional society for young adults in the Diocese of Utah dedicated to the practice and promotion of the Catholic faith and life within the Episcopal Church. Voluntary membership is open to any layperson or member of the clergy in the Diocese of Utah interested in Anglican Catholicism and the practice thereof.

We are under the patronage of St. Jonathan Daniels, who was an Episcopal seminarian martyred in 1965 while shielding a young Civil Rights activist from attack by a police officer. You can learn more about his life and witness here.

Our ‘Rule’ Of Life

We follow the Rule of the Church established in the Book of Common prayer, committing ourselves to the Eucharist, the Offices, and personal/contemplative prayer. We are also committed to pursuing spiritual formation and participating in the spiritual and corporal works of mercy.
